This is a well-established organization that has been around for a significant, but unknown, amount of time. Please feel free to reach out to Riyel for plotting!Structure The brothels are capable of operating independently and usually will. Information is shared via a central database and they are willing to support each other as needed. The faction leaders will come together to jointly discuss issues that have large-scale effects.
Note: Members do not have to live at any of the brothels, they can be stationed anywhere on Pern.Informants - typical daily life of where they are stationed, information is passed on through encrypted programming, may choose where they are stationed, may be sent on long term missions (on a voluntary basis). They do NOT have to be sex workers though many are.Assassins - mainly function as informants but may be given kill missions (frequency of this varies). This is an autojoin position but it must make sense ICly. DG recruits assassins and will be the one to approach its members about potentially taking this position. Not all characters may be a good fit for this. Generally DG will pick individuals who are willing to take risks and who, should things go wrong, will not put the organization at risk.Extractors - serve as bodyguards at the brothels, will be sent on subtle extraction missions when necessary. This group is not capable of large raids and will request help from Night Watch if that is neededLogistical Staff - helps with running of brothels, overall organization, ensures supplies are available, etc etcDatabase Staff - ensure that the information is encrypted, safe, organizedDeal Brokers - assist in putting together and executing deals when information is soldLegal Staff - represent members that are caught, assist with creating of legal documents for dealsTraining Staff - provide education on basic self-defense and other higher level skills depending on the individuals preference, categories include but are not limited to lying/manipulation/performance/etc
Compensation: Each member is given a base salary. A small percent of the escort’s proceeds (0-5% depending on their affiliated brothel) are given to the organization but anything beyond that is kept as personal income above their base salary.Consequences Depending on the charges, it may be something as lenient as parole or as severe as a life sentence. The faction provides legal services in the event a member is arrested. An OOC discussion will be held first before any IC consequences are determined. The family and dependents of any arrested members are cared for by the faction.
Its existence is whispered about but Diphylleia Grayi has little public notoriety. Their name has only appeared in gossip rags. Most sex workers have heard rumors of Diphylleia Grayi as the faction is known to assist individuals in that line of work. Some members of The Night Watch are aware of Diphylleia Grayi’s existence but not necessarily vice versa, that is more of a case by case basis. Overall, Diphylleia Grayi deals in subtlety and tries to keep it that way. This is how they have stayed alive and successful for so long.
